GotVMail VirtualOne - Hosted PBX Service
GotVMail VirtualOne hosted PBX service gives small businesses and mobile workers a dedicated toll-free or local number that acts like a switchboard and gives the appearance of a big office where there might be no office at all.
The VirtualOne service is, a “virtual PBX” or hosted phone system that can be customized for one or more employees. It can be accessed from anywhere, with any phone (VoIP, landline, cell phone), and can easily and quickly be administered online. There are no long-term contracts to sign, and no hardware or software to purchase.
VirtualOne offer an auto attendant, voice mail, multiple mailboxes, a dial-by-name directory, customized greetings, music on hold, a unique toll-free or local number, faxing, custom greetings, music-on-hold, live call forwarding, find me/follow-me calling (which can automatically route calls to any employee regardless of the location or device), Web-based management and other professional virtual office features.
Employees can choose to have fax and voice messages e-mailed to them as PDF or MP3 files. Calls coming in to the company's U.S.-based 800 number can be routed to cell phones. Employees can use Voice over IP phones from Vonage or Skype for taking Internet calls. The service does not currently support SIP phones.
VirtualOne lets you upload your own tunes to play while customers are on hold. I love this feature. The service also lets you search for previous calls and export the search results in Microsoft Excel's XLS, PDF, or other formats.
VirtualOne offers three levels of services, starting at $10 a month. Their Premier Local service is $39.95 which includes a local phone number (where available), 1000 free minutes and up to 20 mail boxes.
Any business can get numbers issued by GotVMail online at www.gotvmail.com and have a virtual PBX up and running instantly, but companies typically spend some time customizing the service. For example, some users may want voice mails forwarded by e-mail, and some may want to be reachable at more than one phone.

Advanced telephony is without a doubt essential in today’s business. Even without a on premise centralized office or PBX. Flexibility, instant configuration and the ability to avoid any hardware costs in favor of a hosted service provide small companies with a phone service only big companies could afford in the past. Thanks to GotVMail and competitors like Packet8 VirtualPBX, and Pandora Networks, the telecom playing field no longer tilts away from small companies and now looks just about level.
