VoIP Service Savings: Qwest Communications poll finds businesses expect 40% savings with VoIP phone service
100% of IT managers plan to install new or additional VoIP service in their businesses within the next year according to a QWest Communications survey of approximately 1000 US based IT professionals.
On average, they expect to realize savings of 40% on their telecommunications cost by switching to VoIP providers. 64% reported that cost savings was their primary reason for switching over to VoIP, while 36% said it was features and improved productivity. And 70% said they'd prefer a VoIP solution provided by a company that owns its own fiber network.
The findings show that VoIP has arrived. It is being adopted by mainstream businesses – not just technical companies which typically embrace new technologies first,” said Eric Bozich, vice president, national network services for Qwest. “We’ve moved past educating customers on ‘what VoIP is’, to demonstrating ‘what VoIP can do’. This is evident in the survey findings, and we are finding productivity gains and feature benefits are emerging as key drivers for implementing VoIP. Cost savings are always important, but the real benefit of VoIP will be the long-term productivity benefits.” See our reviews of
